29th June Quote of the Week

People don't care how much you know until they know how much you care.

This quote comes from author and leadership expert John C. Maxwell.

It highlights the importance of dealing with people in an emotionally intelligent way.

Others will be far more receptive to what we are saying if we treat them with respect and demonstrate that we care about them.

However ‘right’ we believe we are, others will not be receptive to our point of view if we don’t have their best interests at heart.

22nd June Quote of the Week

Ask yourself this question: "Will this matter a year from now?"

This quote comes from the renowned self-help book Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff by Richard Carlson.

One of the keys to success is a sense of perspective.

We need to focus our efforts on what is important and what will really make a difference to our lives, rather than getting bogged-down in matters that may seem urgent today but are actually of little consequence.

15th June Quote of the Week

A smooth sea never made a skilled mariner.

The meaning of this old English proverb is that it is by facing difficult tasks that we develop the skills and endurance necessary for success.

We should not shy away from tough challenges but should see them as an opportunity for personal growth. The more we confront difficulties in all areas of our lives the easier they will be to overcome in the future.

8th June Quote of the Week

Never mistake activity for achievement.

This quote comes from the legendary college basketball coach John Wooden.

Hard work is absolutely vital if we are to achieve our goals. However, it is important to be aware that hard work on its own is not enough.

It is also important that we direct our efforts in an intelligent and focused way. If we can do this then we will get the maximum results from the effort that we put in.

We may not know straight away what the most effective actions that we can take are, but we can learn as we go along, both from our successes and our failures.

1st June Quote of the Week

What really changed my life was when I wrote down all the things I would no longer accept in my life, all the things I would not tolerate, and all the things I aspired to becoming.

This quote is from Tony Robbins, one of the all time great self-help gurus.

It is vital that we have high aspirations for ourselves and that we don't allow ourselves to be held back by our own bad habits or external circumstances.

Breaking negative patterns in our lives and replacing them with positive, constructive actions is the way to overcome our problems and start fulfilling our dreams.
