It underlines the importance of determination and a positive ‘can do’ attitude.

When working towards our goals we should always be looking out for opportunities that will help us to achieve them.

If we are alert to the possibilities around us, there may be occasions when opportunities come to us fairly easily. However, this will not always be the case.

We need to be prepared to show the persistence and fortitude required to create opportunities for ourselves.

22nd March Quote of the Week

We are born to live, not to prepare for life. 

This quote comes from the great writer Boris Pasternak.

While it is important to make plans, it is even more important to take action if we are to achieve the things that are important to us and get the most from life.

If we get into the habit of procrastinating, life may simply pass us by.

Everyday we should try to take actions which will move us towards achieving our life goals.

You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream. 

This quote comes from philosopher and author C.S. Lewis.

As we get older a danger is that we narrow our horizons and become more limited in our ambition.

However, it is never too late to bring meaning and achievement into our lives.

The experience that we gain as we go through life can be very valuable in helping us to set and achieve goals and many people have their greatest achievements later in life.

In addition to our work and home lives, our friendships are a very important aspect of who we are.

Good friendships are central to leading a happy and fulfilling life. We should be there for our friends in good times and bad, sharing in their joy and supporting them when things aren’t going so well.

Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful. 

This quote comes from the theologian and medical missionary Albert Schweitzer.

It is vital that we are happy in our work. Not only will this make us happier as people, it will also energise us and enable us to give the commitment and focus needed to succeed.

If we are not happy in our job then maybe we need to look at it again, see the benefits it brings to others and emphasise the aspects of it that bring us most enjoyment.

However, if we really cannot find meaning or enjoyment in the work we do now, then it may be better to start looking for something else.
